‘A Night In November’ is Marie Jones’ brilliant, passionate and ‘seriously funny’ (Times) exploration of a Belfast man’s awakening, a journey that takes him from Windsor Park on a cold November night to a scorching New York to support Ireland in the ’94 World Cup. Years of bigotry, hatred and discrimination are hard to shake off but Kenneth McCallister is a man on a mission. He makes a wild and wonderful decision that will change his life forever and provides a theatre experience that showcases one-actor dramas at their very best. His story is personal, its appeal is universal.

Mike Kelly, of Ballinskelligs, South Kerry, heritage, plays all 20 or so characters. A visitor to Kerry every year, Mike last toured its theatre venues 12 years ago with ‘Stones In His Pockets’ (also Jones) Madhouse Theatre’s version of ‘The Complete Works Of Shakespeare (abridged)’, and ‘Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me’ by Frank McGuinness, all three of them to great acclaim.
Kelly has played in many two and three-handers – this is his very first one-man effort. ‘I can’t think of anywhere in the world I’d rather open this production than in my beloved County Kerry. I’m pouring my heart and soul into rehearsals and hope to do this extraordinary play justice.’
Since graduating from one the prestigious LAMDA drama academy Kelly has appeared in films with Daniel Craig, Matt Damon and most recently Ciaran Hinds in AMC’s ‘The Terror’. He has also appeared in London’s West End and toured throughout Europe with Madhouse Theatre Company which he co-founded in 2000.
